Hampton Car & Limo · East Hampton Airport

Car service to East Hampton Airport.

Transfers to and from East Hampton Town Airport — JPX, the field most people still call HTO — and on to the villages, the city and the commercial airports.

The flight is the easy part.

A seaplane or a light jet puts you on the East End in under an hour. Then there is a twenty minute drive, bags, a gate code and a house nobody can find in the dark. That is the part we handle.

From the airport to the house

Approximate drive times from the airport in Wainscott. Summer Fridays and Sunday evenings run longer, and we build that into the plan rather than discovering it on the road.

How the pickup works

Give us the tail number or the operator and the scheduled time when you book. We track the inbound leg, so if you depart Manhattan late or the aircraft is held on the ground, the car moves with it. You will not land to a driver who left, and you will not pay for an hour of waiting that was never your fault.

The chauffeur's name and mobile number go to you the evening before. On arrival the car is on the ramp or at the FBO door, bags go in the back, and you are moving within a couple of minutes of the stairs coming down.

Departing is the same in reverse. We leave with enough margin for the Bridgehampton traffic and arrive early rather than exactly on time, because an aircraft waiting for a passenger costs considerably more than a car waiting for one.

Flying commercial instead? The same car runs to JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, Teterboro and Gabreski, and meets arrivals at all of them.

Questions

Is this East Hampton Airport, HTO or JPX?

All the same place. East Hampton Town Airport in Wainscott carried the identifier HTO for decades and now shows as JPX on the charts. Most passengers, and most pilots, still say East Hampton or HTO. Tell us whichever you were given and we will know where to be.

Can you meet us on the ramp?

Where the operator allows it, yes — the car comes to the aircraft. Otherwise we meet you at the FBO door. Tell us who you are flying with and we will arrange it before the day.

What if the flight is delayed or diverted?

We track it. A delay moves the pickup with no change to the price. If weather sends you into Gabreski or Islip instead, call us and we will come to you — that happens most summers and it is not a problem.

How many passengers and how much luggage?

A sedan takes three with light bags. A full-size SUV takes six with luggage, or four with golf clubs. For a larger group arriving together, an executive van seats fourteen and a mini coach more than that. Tell us the headcount and what is travelling with you and we will send the right vehicle rather than two of the wrong one.

Do you carry child seats?

Yes, free of charge. Give us the child's age and weight when you book and the correct seat is fitted and checked before we leave for the airport.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can for summer weekends and holidays, when every operator on the East End is full. Midweek and off season we can often cover a same-day request — call rather than use the form if you are travelling today.

Tell us the tail number.

Send the date, the aircraft or operator, the scheduled time and where you are headed. You will get a fixed price back, usually within the hour.

Card, bank transfer or Venmo. Price agreed before you travel.
