The airport people forget
Long Island MacArthur sits in Ronkonkoma, roughly thirty-five miles from Southampton and well under an hour from most of the North Fork. Compared with the run to Kennedy it is barely a drive, and on a summer Sunday the difference is not thirty minutes, it is two hours.
It is smaller, so it does not fly everywhere. But where the route exists, it is the easiest way on and off the island, and we run it constantly for people who worked that out.
Transfers we run to ISP
Southampton to Islip
Around 35 miles. Usually under an hour outside the worst of the season.
Riverhead and the North Fork
The closest of all our airport runs, and the simplest.
Westhampton to Islip
About 25 miles. Often quicker than anything heading further west.
East Hampton and Montauk
Longer, but still well short of the Kennedy run on a bad day.
How we handle flights
We track the flight rather than the booking time, so an early landing or an hour on the tarmac changes nothing and costs nothing. For arrivals we meet inside at baggage claim with a name board, or at the curb if you would rather.
Golf bags, dogs and child seats are all fine — tell us at booking and the right vehicle arrives. Car seats need ages and weights so we bring the correct one.
